Living with it
Calatheas are called prayer plants because the leaves rise and fold at dusk — you can watch it happen over an evening. The orbifolia has the best foliage of the family: big round leaves banded in silver-green.
It’s honest about being particular. It wants distilled or filtered water (tap-water minerals brown the edges), consistent moisture, and no direct sun. Get those three right and it’s genuinely spectacular. Pet-safe, so the fussiness is the only catch.
