Living with it
If a plant could shrug, this one would. It stores water in those upright leaves, so a missed watering — or four — barely registers. It tolerates the darkest corner in your flat and still puts out new growth.
The one way to actually kill it is overwatering: let the soil dry out completely between drinks, and in winter that can mean a full month. We grow ours a little slow and hard so the leaves come to you stiff and upright, not floppy from a fast-forced nursery.
